Yesterday in the wee hours of the morning I was brought to a groggy awakened state as I heard some sounds outside my apartment.  There were 2 odd thunk sounds followed by the shatter and tinkling of glass. Oh joy. Someone just had their day ruined. Might as well check and make sure everything is ok out there. Alright, I see her car…mine is a little farther out and there is a glare on my window. I guess I will go into the other room so I can make sure things are good with mine. Out there I can’t really see anything..but then all of a sudden..I see my cars interior lights turn on. My car was locked. My cars window has just been broken out as someone pillages my things. Great. Luckily my neighbor runs out and scares off the would be car thief and nothing is taken. Thank you little Mexican boy, for making my day shine.

In case any of you actually happened to notice that a slew of posts that started with “Today’s Twitter Thoughts” have disappeared, fear not, as I did that.  It ended up just being a spam on my blog and so I turned them off and got rid of that plugin. If I have anything relevant from Twitter, I will manually post it myself from here on out.

Recently I took the plunge and added yet another monitor to my rig at work, bringing the total monitor count up to three. “Three!!?” you ask, “isn’t that just a little silly, a little overkill?” I say no.  I have 2 Apple Cinema Displays ( 20″ and 23″) and a 20″ Dell monitor, and I feel as though 3 may be the perfect number for my current situation and needs.  Try to follow my reasoning as I explain myself.

It all goes back to my freshman year of college when I got the handmedown monitor from my parents ancient Gateway (remember those moo-cow boxes?) and used it as my TV screen since my computer at the time had a cable card installed.  Not too long after that I ended up getting a real TV and therefore had a newly usable second monitor. It was at that point that I realized how much I had been missing out on. I could have the internet open in one monitor, while on the other I could have 3 IM conversations running, and watching the progress of a file transfer.  All at the same time, with no overlapping windows!  I was thrilled to say the least. Obviously I used it for much more practical things such as home work and various projects I was working on. But the doors had been opened to the joy of multitasking and the sense of productiveness that came with it.  Since that time I have always felt the need to have multiple monitors.

This is my first official post which happens to be coming from my iPhone. Just making sure things are set up right.

It is not really the first post I’ve made, but since I either lost or simply neglected to see the need for any other posts from older reincarnations of my blog.

Thanks for following along!
